Bibliography, References

This lecture is to some limited degree based on the book Mobile Communication /  Mobilkommunikation (dpunkt) by Jochen Schiller; currently in its second edition. There is also considerable amounts of additional material (especially on physical layer and performance evaluation/analytic techniques) that are NOT covered in Schiller's book. Additional reading can be useful here (in particular, you should be familiar with basic stochastic techniques and basic probability theory).

Two main recommendations: 

• J. Schiller, Mobile Communication, Addison Wesley, 2nd edition. 
• D. Tse und P. Viswanath, Fundamentals of Wireless Communication, Cambridge University Press, 2005. 

If you feel you need to brush up on your stochastics, the books by Sheldon Ross are very readable, with a practical touch. Rather recommended. For example: 

• S. Ross, Introduction to Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists, 2004.
