NSA An­nu­al Best Cy­ber Se­cu­ri­ty Pa­per Com­pe­ti­ti­on Ho­no­ra­ble Men­ti­on!

Together with Prof. Yoshi Kohno, University of Washington, and Dr. Wulf Loh, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Acar, Professor of Empirical Software Engineering at Paderborn University has received an Honorable Mention in the National Security Agency's 12th Annual Best Scientific Cybersecurity Paper Competition. Their paper "Ethical Frameworks and Computer Security Trolley Problems: Foundations for Conversations" was already honored with a Distinguished Paper Award at the Usenix Security Conference in 2023 and has now been recognized again. With their research, the team has been able to significantly influence the ethics guidelines of major security conferences. About the competition: The NSA Laboratory for Advanced Cybersecurity Research launched the competition in 2013 to advance the scientific foundations of cybersecurity. The goal is to improve the security of devices, computers and systems through rigorous research, sound scientific methodology, documentation and publication.
